Art Journal Everyday Update...

I'm still working away in my Blue Kitten Journal.  I've got three new pages to share with you today...

This one has been developing in layers over a few weeks...
 The layers went like this:
magazine collage
gesso mixed with acrylic paint
tissue paper
stamping
more collage
journaling with india ink and a paintbrush

This next one is a collection of bits of paper leftover from miscellaneous projects I completed in May...
I really enjoyed doing this.  Maybe I will make it a monthly practice.  It might be fun to see how the colors and patterns I'm drawn to vary month to month.

More layers here...
This one has modeling paste as a bottom layer, and texture drawn into it with a paintbrush.  The turquoise bubble wrap part was stamped with versa mark ink and embossed with zing embossing powder.  In real life you can really see the difference between the rough, matte background, and the shiny blue embossing.

Did you art journal this week?  How did it go?

These look colorful and fun Michelle. It's amazing your journal can hold up to all that you put in it. Would think the modeling paste would way it down.

Love the colors and quotes on the first one. The second one ROCKS, love the idea of scraps ALWAYS!! The last one has so much on it to love, you always know how to put it all together.
Thanks again for inspiring me and making me smile.
ENJOY THE WEEKEND!!

I've been following your blog for a few weeks now, and just wanted to say I really like the idea of capturing bits of the month's projects on a page as you did with The Colors of May. Great idea!

I like your three pages, the second I love the mixture of different roles and the third I like the contrast of textures and colors.

I love hearing your layer process. I need to try the India ink. Where do you get it? I think one of my pens is India ink. You make me want to art journal more. I love the pp colors and embossing with bubble wrap??? So cool! Inspiring me as always! Have a great weekend!

Hi Patricia! I think I got this india ink at Michael's, or Maybe Blick Art Supply. It comes in a small bottle. I use a detail paintbrush with it.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments!!!
