CSN Stores Sewing Machine Review Begins...

Hey everybody! I'm so excited to finally show you what I chose to review from CSN Stores -

A BROTHER LS-2125i FREE-ARM SEWING MACHINE!!!
Isn't she a beaut???
Here's a link to purchase this item if you are interested:
Brother Sewing Machine at CSN Stores.com

I've wanted to be able to sew on my art projects for awhile now, but I am a complete novice when it comes to sewing, and quite frankly, it's a large investment to make when you don't know if you will be good at it or not. So, when CSN Stores approached me to do a product review, and said that I could pick an item myself, I was so excited to find this sahweet little number! The online reviews at various sites gave it high ratings; and the description on the CSN site actually mentioned that it is good for scrapbooking, so I thought what could be more PERFECT???!!!

I am excited to bring you along with me as I learn to sew and review my new Brother as I go.

I had planned to start tonight, but realized that in order to do that I have to actually BUY THREAD. LOL. Yeah, umm, that's how much of a novice I am. Anyhoo, I still wanted to show you the machine, and give you my initial observations...

One thing I was worried about with a sewing machine was where I would put it. Well, I am happy to tell you that it fits perfectly into one of my IKEA Expedit cubbies! Check it out...

It also is very lightweight, and has a nice handle, so it is super-easy to slide out onto my scraptable when I want to use it. A real plus if you ask me!

As soon as I get my thread I am going to start sewing and I will keep you updated on how it goes! Anyone have advice about what kind of thread to buy???

I will leave you with an art journal page from June 7...

Thanks so much for visiting and I will see you again tomorrow!

I have bought a sewingmachine earlier this year and I'm learning to sew. I wanted to do simple alterations to clothes (like shorten a pair of trousers), make presents and use it for scrapbooking. So I'm right there with you!

How cool! I am kind of looking for a new machine - I have a Brother but it's about 10 years old now.

BTW, I have a CSN giveaway going on over on my blog till midnight - you should get it on it for a new light for your awesome scrapspace! :)

OMG, I am so excited you are reviewing this and first off, let me say DO NOT buy thread that is on clearance at the local craft store...j/k sorta. I bought some on clearance at my local craft store, and it broke soooo much when I was trying to use it!!! I ended up going to JoAnn's and buying some good Coats and Clark Dual Duty thread...they have the most beautiful colors and it is perfect when you use it. Plus, it's not terribly expensive if you are using it for scrapbooking! I love my sewing machine and it is a brother...the project runway edition....and I love all the stitches it does. Have fun with it...and I can't wait to see all you do with it:)

Agree with Jessi's comment above. Cheap thread is C-H-E-A-P, don't bother. Joann's always has good coupons, so buy something nice, no matter what supply you are buying. Yard sales, estate sales etc are good sources of nice sturdy (usually beautiful!) vintage sewing supplies.
